Helltaker was one of the most popular indie games of 2020 for a number of reasons. Sure, it might have been the visuals that popped out at you, or the incredibly catchy music, or maybe even the difficult but fair gameplay. But I think we all know that the main reason it took off so hard is because of the cast of sharply dressed demon girls and the main character's goal to create a harem out of them. So it's not surprising at all that fans took it upon themselves to make a sequel to the main story called The Second Circle.
To play The Second Circle, just extract the archive and run the executable.
Gameplay wise, this is very much like typical visual novels. It's incredibly linear save for a couple of choices where you choose which girl to go on a date with and it carries itself entirely through writing and art. Thankfully, the writing is strong enough to stand tall and carry you through, and the reimagined outfits for each of the girls now that they've settled into domestic life on Earth fits each of their themes and gimmicks quite well. The art style is also incredibly similar to the original, which only works in its favor.
As of now, the game is still very much in development, so there are only seven CGs to unlock throughout the ten dates. However, it's being developed incredibly quickly. If you were a fan of the original Helltaker, there is no reason not to play The Second Circle. Make sure to find out how to support the indie dev by clicking right here.
