Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Mateusz Skutnik is one of the best creators of the genre. Less known is that he's actually part of a team - Pastel Games - and that they assisted in many of his best-known games. He in turn has contributed to their work, with one of them being the Tortuga series. Let's look at The Scene of the Crime.

This game features a fantastic Noir world, which combined with Skutnik's fantastic attention to detail, is pretty much one of the most beautiful flash games out there. You play the part of a detective on a murder case, and the game starts off with you in front of the body already. However, you're not really trying to track down the murderer - you're just trying to find evidence to put together a case for prosecution. You have a briefcase of forensics tools and once you find all the evidence you need, you can just leave and conclude the game.

Gameplay-wise, it's pretty much the same as every other Pastel Games offering. There's some fairly clever puzzles, but it's overall pretty easy and fairly short. There's no real hurdles you need to get over.

All in all, if you're a fan of Skutnik's work, you should definitely give The Scene of the Crime a download.
