Madness Combat is one of the most popular flash series of all time. Its simple yet iconic art style, creative choreography and kills, and memorable setpieces have propelled it into stardom. Practically everybody on Newgrounds at least knows of it in passing, and it's so popular that it has its own official holiday on Newgrounds. A ton of games related to the franchise have been created over the years. Even the creator of Newgrounds has gotten in on it, and he made Madness Regent.
To install Madness Regent, simply run the file in whatever SWF player you have.
The gameplay is pretty straightforward. You use the left and right arrow keys to move around, S to jump and double jump, up and down arrow keys to aim, and A to attack. You only have an infinite ammo machine gun to use the whole time. Getting hit will lower your health and grabbing hot dogs will give you some health back. Thankfully, the game's balanced well enough that you won't take unfair damage.
The game isn't based off any particular episode of the series, but some setpieces are taken from there. For instance, you'll jump through a skylight like Episode 5, be stuck in an elevator like Episode 2, and walk into a DJ party hosted by Tricky the clown like in Episode 4.
All in all, this is a pretty well put together game, but the aiming is kind of annoying to use. Madness fans should give Madness Regent a shot.
