Little Lands 1.0

Little Lands is another one of the small world games made for the Ludum Dare game jam 38 which has seen us treated to an array of sim city style games or other games that are all contained within one small world, yesterday we had Little Polys (you can click on the title to go the review and download page for Little Polys) and today we have Little Lands which although doesn’t look that much is one of those games once you’ve worked out how to do it and although it is fairly basic if you don’t realize you need to click on the squares to harvest your crops, collect the wood, or mine the stone then you will fall behind and your population will become unhappy and eventually die out. Of course your most important resource is food and you will need to grow trees and build farms, but to build other things in your land you will need to set up stone mines and lumber yards also, eventually you can also get a store house which will mine the resources automatically but until you have the store house you will have to do that manually.

You will also eventually need to set up defenses from pirate attacks that will happen off the coast of your ever increasing in size land, to do this you can build walls, archery towers and barracks so that the pirates and there cannons don’t destroy your precious earth!

The game is very addictive and trying to maintain the happiness of your population provides a fun challenge although once you do have understand everything and all you need to do in the game it does become a bit easier however there will always be enjoyment to be found in increasing and making you little world as big and metropolitan as possible.
