The very phrase "idle RPG" may cause you to roll your eyes immediately, but this game actually has some more depth to it. As you go along, you'll unlock various heroes taken from DnD lore across the ages. Each of these heroes have their own stats and skills which allow them to stay relevant throughout the game, something most idle games have problems with.

This all comes into play through its formation system. Every set of stages has its own formation, and success comes from planning out your party composition. For example, one of the starting heroes has an ability that boosts the attack power of everybody in the same row as them. Another character has an ability that boosts everybody around them, and a third has one that boosts everybody in a column. On top of that, there is another hero that boosts adjacent hero's skill effects, so you'll need to arrange your formation properly so the highest DPS hero gets all these boosts. Since formations stay fluid throughout the stages, this makes sure that the player will have to think about their placement.

All of this makes Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms a delight to play, and a lot more active than most idle games.
