Sonic fan games are some of the strangest beasts out there. During its most popular era, there was a ton of fan content, most of which are shoddily made or incredibly "edgy". The Final Fantasy Sonic X series is no stranger to any of these fan content tropes. In fact, it might seem like one of the worst offenders of it. However, like the other prolific Sonic RPG Flash series, it improves dramatically as the developer gains experience. Let's look at Final Fantasy Sonic X Episode 1.
To play Final Fantasy Sonic X Episode 1, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This is the roughest entry in the series, as it's the first one. The sprite work is relatively passable, especially for its time, but the battle UI is incredibly rough looking, with bright solid colors and ridiculously loud sound effects. On top of that, there are a ton of typos all over the place, to the point where it's genuinely distracting.
The story is fairly straightforward this entry, with it introducing the Mega Man main antagonists who have kidnapped Amy Rose as well as introducing the legendary sword (that looks almost exactly like the Buster Sword) to Sonic, who will use it in the next couple of episodes.
All in all, this is an incredibly rough first entry, but without playing Final Fantasy Sonic x Episode 1, you'll be completely lost in the following better entries.
