When you have a game where you can build whatever you want but need to gather resources to do so, you inevitably want to have automation along with it. Imagine playing Minecraft survival without a farm of some kind - you'd constantly need to stop to find pigs and chicken to slay to stave off hunger and constantly find iron to keep your armor up. Factorio takes this to the maximum.

To install the demo for Factorio, simply run the executable and follow the instructions.

This game has a very straightforward gameplay loop if you've played Minecraft. You need to gather resources and build buildings and defenses to defend yourself from monsters that will attack you. The difference here is you can automate almost everything in this game. You can set up massive conveyor belt lines that can convert resources and build items all on their own.

Also very much unlike Minecraft, the main character is weak on his own. You can be very easily overwhelmed by three enemy waves in if you're all on your own. You need to quickly learn how to set up turrets and kept them fed with bullets.

There is definitely a learning curve involved, especially with setting up your supply lines in a way that will stay fully automated. Once you get past that, however, you'll quickly find yourself addicted to the tech tree and the ever expanding factory you find yourself in the middle of.

Overall, Factorio is a fantastic game that will eat your time up if you aren't careful.
