Duelyst 1.0

Duelyst is a free fantasy turn based card game very much in the mold of Hearthstone, it uses an almost identical card and mana system however the difference is you characters on the board of battle are actually 3D models so it almost adds an element of chess to the game, although the 3D models can look a bit pixelated depending on how good graphics card you’re running.

It took a while to warm to Duelyst as at first it just seemed like such a carbon copy of Hearthstone which is pretty hard to replace at that number one fantasy card game slot, however the chess like movement and models of this game does give it enough to be considered a different game in its own right and the more you play you will start to see quite a few other differences of course there are in game micro transactions but it’s possible to play the game and build good decks of cards without having to open your wallet.

The servers when playing an online game seem to have plenty of people and the wait time to be linked with another player was very minimal.

There are some people who say it is a superior game to Hearthstone, although personally I haven’t be fully swayed as Hearthstone is definitely the prettier of the two games, however Duelyst does have a bit more to it and maybe with a few more plays we might be setting up camp in team Duelyst.
