In 1997, Webfoot Technologies released a game called Deadly Rooms of Death. Its unique controls, gameplay flow, and puzzle style of dungeon crawling makes it incredibly unique even by today's standards. However, once the 3D age begun, they would drop support for the game, but let the original developer remake it in an open source model. Years later, ports of the series have finally come to the browser in a flash game format. Let's look at DROD: Episode 2.
To play DROD: Episode 2, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This is a continuation to the first game, as this entire series is just a massive port of the first game. Thus, you are now navigating through levels 5-8 of the dungeon. Thus, this particular chapter builds on the first chapter with even harder puzzles for you to deal with. There are now also new enemies however, like the living tar that's incredibly annoying to deal with.
You still have to navigate through each level with the numpad and the QW keys to swing your sword. Each level still has you needing to find the exit and open doors by triggering a variety of switches. And the monsters still only move when you do, making this an engaging turn based puzzle game.
All in all, DROD: Episode 2 is a great continuation of the mechanics introduced in the first chapter. If you played the first one, no reason not to keep playing.
