Final Fantasy basically codified the turn based JRPG format, with the formula lasting from the 80s to now with only some minor tweaks and streamlining to the system. It's also accessible enough that it can be applied to games with a variety of budgets - in fact, the famous RPG maker software makes it simple to make an RPG with barely any budget. However, there are some that tried to go further beyond before that engine came out - the Arkandian Legends series is one of them. Let's look at Arkandian Legends Chapter 3: Explorer.

To install Arkandian Legends Chapter 3: Explorer, simply run the file in whatever SWF player you have.

You'll notice how many more options there are from the character creator, where there are 10 races. Most of them aren't unlocked until you finish the game the first time, giving you a ton of replayability. You'll have to enter dungeons and using the arrow keys to navigate in it. You'll have to walk into items and treasures to acquire them, and enemies to initiate a 1 on 1 battle.

Tactical battles will have you deploying the squad mates you've recruited in a map against an army, where you have to utilize Fire Emblem levels of tactics to take them out while your main character sits on the sidelines.

All in all, this is a fantastic finale to a fantastic game series. Any RPG fan should try Arkandian Legends Chapter 3: Explorer.
