Valheim is a Viking themed RPG game and at first look you it can seem a little unpolished, the art style seemed perhaps a bit basic, not low poly but like something you may have expected from a 16-bit machine however when you get in to the game and start battling the orcs and trolls and other assorted beasts is when you really appreciate this style of art work and character rendering.

The game itself takes some getting used to as things as simple as walking across rough terrain or getting cold will see your life meter start to deplete and you can soon found yourself dying especially if you come across an inescapable enemy it will take you some time to get used to the battle system especially if you only have your fists as weapons.

It’s easy to see the appeal of Valheim as there is so much to explore, so much to scavenge and so many enemies to do battle with, and eventually once you have battled enough enemies, monsters and oddities perhaps the gates to Valhalla will open up for your Viking!
