The Crooked Man was a surprising standout hit when it came out, with a ton of Youtubers playing it and giving it a ton of spotlight. However, most audiences actually don't know that it's part of a series called the Strange Men series, with the Crooked Man simply being the first of the series. The second game in the series is called The Sandman.
To install The Sandman, simply unzip the archive and run the executable and you're good to go.
The game's story follows Sophie, a young girl trapped between the bullies at school and the loneliness at home. Her parents are usually not around. She keeps telling herself that it's fine, but it's clearly not. One night she finds she can't sleep, and a ton of different strange things are happening in her house.
Uri, the developer, seems to just get better and better every release, and this game stands taller than the Crooked Man. It gives better subtle direction, cuts down on a lot of the wandering with the addition of a map, and the puzzles are mostly creative and fun save for a few timed sequences and unintuitive areas. However, the writing can get a little bit exhausting, with wildly shifting tones and a constant escalation in the weirdness.
Overall, though, The Sandman is an incredibly solid entry into the Strange Men series, with it having a lot more subtlety and nuance to it. If you like horror games and was a fan of the Crooked Man, you should give it a download.
