Object Link and Embedding - or OLE - objects and Component Object Model - or COM - objects are two core components of the Windows OS. OLE objects are any object that has a link or are embedded in a second application. COM objects allow it to be used by different applications, including applications that were written without any knowledge of their existence. As their names and explanations may tell you, these are very technical parts of the computer that Windows usually locks away, as their tampering can be disastrous. If you're a more experienced user, though, OLE/COM Object Explorer will let you see them.
There is no installation process for OLE/COM Object Explorer, so you can simply unzip it and extract it anywhere you want. It won't leave any trace in your computer's registry, either. Opening it will reveal a standard interface that's well organized and easy to use. It packs a couple of different options for finding a certain object as well. You can search by their name, globally unique identifier, COM class object ID, appID, TypeLib or Interface ID. These details can then be copied to the Clipboard for further use by pressing a button. In addition, you can load the library of a TypeLib object to view its source code, as well as display their binary code as a hexadecimal code.
OLE/COM Object Explorer may be an incredibly technical program, but it does do exactly what it says it does. If you're in the market for an explorer like this, then look no further.
