Minecraft is a game with limitless potential. While people constantly push the boundaries with mods adding more and more gameplay features to the point where it can straight up turn into a strategy game or just flat out be a very functional MMORPG. However, there is a ton of things that can be done with vanilla Minecraft to this day. In fact, new things are still being added to Minecraft to this day. One of them is Hexlands II, a mod that changes the world generation to separate everything into hexagons.

Installing Hexlands II is simple. Make sure you have Minecraft Forge installed, then navigate to your mods folder and drag it in.

This mod changes the way the world generates in a very unique way. It separates every biome into a small hexagonal partition, all separated by a stone border that varies in width and height. You might encounter walls that can be scaled with a single jump or some that reach high into the skies and are separated by canyons.

The end result is that every biome is a lot smaller now, but still incredibly dense. Some villagers will migrate to different biomes that you wouldn't see otherwise, and this world generation can happen in the nether as well, although nether biomes are a lot less diverse and adds easy hexagonal paths, which may reduce some of the tension.

Hexlands II is a mod that gives you a lot more options in gameplay and you should give it a shot if you're a Minecraft fan.
