The developers have been dedicated to keeping eMule one of the most popular peer to peer software available and they have kept a strong community behind the software by doing so.

Started by a guy named Merkur, eMule was inspired by the eDonkey2000 peer to peer client and Merkur wanted to make an application that pleased him more than eDonkey. So, he went ahead and grouped up some developers and they made their own. Merkur and the developers have worked hard to make eMule one of the best clients available and definitely show their inspiration from eDonkey2000 within it's client.

The clients use several networks to create one reliable network, which is one of many unique features that make eMule stand out. Some others are eMule's queue and credit system that helps to ensure that everyone will get the files they want by promoting those that upload back to the network. This encourages people to help the network rather than downloading the files they want and leaving immediately. eMule automatically checks for corrupted files, but it also have a feature called Intelligent Corruption Control, which helps to speed of the correction of the corrupted parts of the file, if there are any. Those are just a few of many great features that make up eMule.
