Drift City Remastered Halloween 2020

MMOs don't really experiment in genres much these days. Ever since World of Warcraft codified and refined the MMORPG formula, online games have been feeling significantly samey as more and more companies aim to race the trend that it set. Thus, no matter the quality, truly unique MMOGs should have a close look taken at them and even celebrated in a small way. One of them is Drift City Remastered, a fan revival of the original Drift City - an anime style driving MMORPG.

To install Drift City Remastered, simply unzip the archive and run the executable and you're good to go.

Character creation is nonexistent, with you only being able to choose from a couple of pre-made avatars. However, it's pretty acceptable because this is a car game, and players express themselves through the tons of available cars and customizations to them.

The game has a surprisingly engaging and persistent open world. The world is made up of four cities, each with a different look and feel to them. You can go from a seaside metropolis to a desert city complete with a secret military compound and a space center. 

The gameplay is incredibly arcadey, with even races being linear drives to the finish. However, there is an incredible sense of speed with speedlines constantly in the edges of your screen and fire around your wheels.

If you're a fan of racing and MMORPGs, then Drift City Remastered is just about the best fusion of the two that you can ask for.
