Doomsday Engine 2.2.2

If you've been playing games for a while, you probably remember the olden ages of FPSes where games like DOOM and Hexen were king. However, if nostalgia strikes you, you may find it difficult to play these games again as old software generally needs some work to run on the newest software. Fortunately, there are a ton of programs out there that help you play these old games. One of many is the Doomsday Engine, which is focused completely on those old FPS games.

Doomsday Engine is incredibly easy to install - just run the MSI program and follow the installation wizard. The first thing you'll notice when you boot the program up is how slick the interface looks. Each game is separated neatly into their own tabs and it's not confusing to navigate whatsoever. If you want to play one of those games, all  you need to do is go to the tab, load the game files into it (you need to own the game files beforehand) and boot it up.

Aside from those basic functions, this program also lets you tamper with its settings in case you're not satisfied with its default values. You can also enable antialiasing, VSync and FPS counters but also change the resolution and color scheme. The absolute best  part about this program, however, is that you can play multiplayer with other people despite their support being ended over a decade ago.
