Cloudfogger is an app designed to give you an extra layer of protection when storing delicate or personal information in the cloud.

Most cloud providers encrypt your data your data before uploading it to the cloud but some cloud based operators do this remotely meaning there is a possibility that you data could be accessed before it is stored in the cloud which is where CloudFogger comes in.

CloudFogger will create a virtual drive on your computer, you then select which cloud based folder you want to match with CloudFogger, if you have a dropbox folder it will automatically match with this folder but you can choose to pair it with any cloud folder that you wish.

CloudFogger will then establish a drive which is solely for you to copy your files in to, it will then automatically encrypt them using AES and then placed back in to the original folder in encrypted form before they are finally backed up once more to add extra protection.

You can view these files on any device which has the CloudFogger app installed on it so as long as you have the app on your phone or tablet as well as your main computer you will be able to access your encrypted files from any of your devices while remaining safe in the knowledge that they will not be shared with anyone that you do not wish them to be.

Your use and necessity for CloudFogger probably will depend on what type of file you are sending and how much privacy you really need for your files, it can be a lot of work and time consuming all of your files and if you are not too fussed over the security of them then you may not want to spend so much time adding extra security however for those of you who want to store valuable data in the cloud and want to make sure it will not be stolen then CloudFogger serves a great purpose and of course it is free and available to download right here.
