The built-in Windows Command Prompt is more than useful enough for most tasks, but it has issues trying to run a variety of commands all at once. When you try to do that, it proves to be surprisingly difficult to wrestle with. You'll need an alternative that allows you to perform more advanced commands, like Yori.
Yori is a tool designed to replace the shell of the standard Windows console, and it shows in the installation process. There are a ton of options to choose from. There are four packages to pick from, all of varying levels of complexity. If you are unsure of what to go with, I recommend the default option. Although the console looks the same as the default Windows one, there are a variety of differences. For one, the output uses UTF-9 instead of ASXII-8, letting more characters be shown. That's just the beginning of it, however.
The app also ensures that the commands launched will be returned immediately to the shell. If you need the commands, you can display the memory buffers with a job command. It's important to note that the shell doesn't execute commands itself, but relies on the Windows console to actually carry the commands out. The app, however, can execute its own scripts and can provide you with extra commands that aren't available in the default windows package.
This may sound a lot more technical than most users are used to, but if you're an experienced user, Yori should be right up your alley.
