Venus Patrol is a curious little game that’s somewhere between a flight simulator and air combat game and to add an extra element to it the game is set above the surface of Venus rather than Earth.
The game starts you out with an in-depth tutorial to learn how to position the camera views and then how to fly your plane which is based on real British aero planes, which is quite difficult but follow the steps of the tutorial and you will soon get the hang of flying, then after that you will learn the combat arts such as firing your gun and missiles.
Expect to go in to a few nose dives and crash in to the service of Venus before you fully grasp the controls but once you have and you’ve completed the tutorial get ready to go in to combat, sadly there’s only the tutorial and a couple of levels to be played and the game is very low resolution (not surprising considering it was originally released way back in 2011) but the low poly graphics add to the overall feel of the game and it’s clear that a lot of work has been put in to making the physics seem as realistic as possible.
