The Morgue is a horror game that is still in development and while it is kind of scary there is a lot to be worked on the game does look nice and detailed but there also far too many parts where it is too dark which makes it very difficult to navigate your way around the location and you may find you are covering the same ground on more than one occasion. The music sometimes add a little more fear especially when it starts suddenly giving you a small jump but it would be nice if it played throughout the game to help build the tension and atmosphere rather than having music only in certain points in the game then fading out to silence leaving you with only the rather heavy sound of your own footsteps.
There are some really nice and tense moments where objects seem to move of their own free will or maybe have been pushed by someone who is just out of sight.
The story is also a little confusing as you are being given instructions by a mysterious voice on a walkie talkie and there seems like there will be an element of action added as the development of this game progresses, these parts are somewhat reminiscent of the Resident Evil series but it is not made clear what your overall mission is and why you are in the morgue, you actually start the game by coming out of one of The Morgue drawers as if your character is a corpse or perhaps you just hid in their waiting for the coast to clear before you could start working your way around the location, it would be great if it was clearer as to why and what you are doing in this place.
The jump scares well in the first part of the game are fairly few and far between with the exception of the odd piece of furniture moving and some rats that pop out of nowhere however this game does have a lot of potential and it will be very interesting to see how it progresses.
