Puzzles in games are rarely a genre all on their own nowadays. Now, it's more based around action, with puzzles being there mainly to gate some progress off and make you use your brain every once in a while. However, true puzzle games are some of the most mind bending things in the world, and The Directed doesn't disappoint.

This game is developed in Unity, which while having a bad reputation in recent years, is a fantastic engine. The game will look good while not taxing your resources heavily, and you can start off by picking what resolution and graphics you want to run the game at.

The game's tutorial is quick and easy, while also having enough depth to get more and more complex as the game goes on. You have to prepare a set of orders or directions for your avatar who will unquestioningly follow each of them, and you have to get them to the destination. Once all the directions have been given, you can press the play button and your avatar will start running on the tiles, following your directions to the letter, until it either hits an obstacle or finishes the level.

This game has some pretty short levels too, letting you play for short bursts at a time if you like. Overall, The Directed is a good, short puzzle game that's completely free. There's little reason for puzzle fans to miss out on this one.
