Socxel 1.0

Socxel (or Pixel Soccer to give it, it's other title) is a very simple kind of like soccer game, well it’s more like soccer meets pong meets digital air hockey and can be played with 1-8 players each player using only one key on the keyboard to control your little soccer player and the interesting mechanic here is that it’s very tricky you have to wait until your character is facing the direction you want to move in until you hit the action button and then get him running on that path.

The objects used as soccer balls vary and can some very strange things such as mobile phones, beach balls or even dynamite sticks, but the real winner here is the more players you have the more fun that Socxel is, and luckily even if you haven’t got 7 friends to play with you can have AI on your team as well as playing against the AI so you it’s possible to hold games with multiple players even if you are playing solo.

It would take a lot of practice and a very skillful player to actually be able to master this game but one thing that it does do is focus on fun and although the winner of each match can be fairly random depending on who gets most of the lucky breaks it’s certainly a lot of fun!

There’s nothing worth specifically noting in the graphics or animations but they do their job and although not much has gone in to the character models the real winner here is silly and erratic game play which everyone should love.

There’s also an option to play live online matches with other players but sadly when we tried it there was no one else to connect for an online match with, however this may improve as the game increases in popularity.
