Siren 0.6a

DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything.  From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods that can all do different things. One of the more unique ones out there is Siren.

To install Siren, you need to have GZDOOM. Then, copy the .pk3 file into the GZDoom folder and drag it on top of the GZDoom.exe to start playing.

This mod is still currently in development, but it's already incredibly solid. The game tries to deliver a very intense experience like the Aliens movies, but still with the empowerment and pacing of a DOOM game. You're dropped into a secret research facility where various monsters have broken containment and you need to kill them all.

The main horror vibe comes from the titular Siren. It is a deadly black cloud that you can't defeat. Shooting it just slows it down and you can trap it in rooms, but otherwise, you can't stop a sentient cloud. If it catches you, you're toast. The intensity of the game comes almost entirely from the Siren, as you're always paranoid that it will just fly around the next corner and catch you before you can react. It harkens back to the best of horror before it all became jumpscares.

Overall, Siren is an incredibly impressive total overhaul mod that the DOOM mod community has been getting known for.
