Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Let's take a look at one of the many Japanese games that utilize realistic visuals - Room from Ichima. Let's look at the first entry of the series, Room 14: Lily of the Valley.

This game has no story, which is completely fine, as the game is incredibly short. This game follows the Japanese online escape game trend of having beautiful graphics and being near photorealistic. 

You click on the buttons at the side of the screen to navigate around, click on an object or door to zoom in on it and have to figure out how to solve a number of puzzles in the living room to get out. You can also click the about item button to get a closer look on certain items in the game. A fantastic thing about this game is even though the language is Japanese, it's still intuitive enough to be finished.

All in all, if you're a fan of point and click games, then you're missing out if you haven't played the Submachine series. Room 14: Lily of the Valley is another fantastic entry into the series.
