Sometimes the default information that Windows gives us about the information of the wireless networks around us is simply not good enough. That's why many third party developers have made their own applications as a replacement to give you the right amount of information you are looking for. The SZ Development has made an application just for this reason, Homedale. With a simple user interface, you will be able to use many of its features to give you the information you are looking for without much effort at all.
With Homedale, you can see a simply overview of all of the wireless networks around you, whether they are close or open access points, their encryption if they are secure, and the speed of the access points. This view will also show you the signal strength of the access points in the list that are available around you. The signal strength is also color coated, so you will be able to visually see the difference in the quality of the connections that you have available to you.
You can easily gain more information on the signal strength, as well. Selecting an access point gives you a graph that shows the recent history of the quality of the connection, which could give you an idea of how stable the connection is and if there is any interference that is degrading the quality of that specific connection. To select which connection you want to connect you, you simply right click on it and select "connect". It's really that easy. You will just need to enter the password of the wireless network and you are good to go.
