The sudo command in Linux lets the user execute a command as the superuser, letting them do practically everything the OS will let them do. However, none of the other OSes feature a similar command. The closest thing Windows has is "run as administrator", but even then, it doesn't come with elevated privileges. Usually, while the account has administrator privileges, the program itself doesn't. That's where a tool like gsudo comes in, as it lets you use a sudo command in Windows.
There is no installation process for gsudo. Just unzip the archive to wherever you need it.
This program runs in a simple CLI utility that will let you run programs with elevated rights without spawning a new console host window. Like the name suggests, it lets you execute a sudo command on Windows and will elevate the permissions of both the shell console window and the programs you run it with.
The commands are displayed in the current user-level console window by default. That makes it pretty easy to use, but still not so easy that total newcomers can just waltz on in and use it. In addition, this program can be used with scripts that need elevated access. You can easily run these scripts with parameters from an elevated console.
All in all, gsudo does exactly what it says. However, one safety warning that must be said is that you have to make absolutely sure that your system doesn't have viruses - if they inject its code into an elevated process, it could prove catostrophic.
