Down is a short narrative experience game which is somber, depressing, morose, melancholy and yet also a brilliant experience however we would not recommend this if you’re already feeling a bit low, because Down is not a game that would put anyone in a good mood not to say it’s bad game though that is definitely not the case here, it’s a very well thought out and emotional experience but it’s not one that you will come out of feeling good.

The whole thing can be played through in a matter of minutes although you may want to replay a couple of times to see if there is a way to avoid what seems like your inevitable fate (we didn’t manage to find an escape and although the game got more powerful with each replay it also lowered our moods on each replay and makes the title “Down” very fitting indeed.

To give you an idea of what the game entails you wander through the eerie outdoors including a rather grey and morbid graveyard whilst picking up notes that are not complimentary to say the least but also give you an idea of the tainted past that your protagonist has which leads up to a much larger reveal and eventually your fate as the main character but to really find out what happens you will need to play the game but do bear in mind it may not be suitable for younger games or people who are easily influenced and it is also quite depressing however that it can have such a bearing on emotions shows just what a complex game this is even if it can be completed in just a few minutes.
