League of Legends is, noticeably, lacking when it comes to client features. This has been noted time and time again by its community which is often their harshest critic. Out of all those features, one of many quality of life changes that has been noticeably missing is the ability to appear offline. Sometimes you want to just play the game without having to deal with your friends inviting you constantly, but the client doesn't offer that functionality. You'll need a tool outside the game to do that - Deceive is that program.
Settings things up is simple. Simply run Deceive and it will automatically open the client. If the client's already running, then it will shut it down and restart it. After that, it will hide itself into your system tray where you can access it by right-clicking on it. From there, you can easily select whether to turn it on or not. It's very simple.
The best part about this program is that your friends list functionality isn't impacted too much. You can invite anybody you want, but your friends won't be able to. However, once you're in a lobby with people, you can still use League voice to communicate with them.
The developer's received confirmation from Riot Games themselves that you won't be banned for using this program. However, there's no guarantee that it will keep working from patch to patch - that's up to the developers. All in all, Decieve does its job and does it well. If you ever wanted to play League incognito, here's your option.
