Pets are probably some of the best friends you can have. If cared for properly, they are some of the most loyal and loving beings you will ever know. Unfortunately, there will always come a time where you have to say goodbye to them as they're so short-lived. Once that happens, we try to move on but cherish the time we spent together. Well, that bittersweet feeling is perfectly encapsulated with Buddytale.

To play Buddytale, simply unzip the archive and run the executable.

The visuals are reminiscent of a PS2 game, with an intentional filter placed over it that makes it seem like it's coming from an LED TV. This gives it a unique look that helps it stand out from the crowd.

The game starts with you adopting a small pet from a litter of three in the beginning. You give it a collar, name it, and then take it home with you. What ensues is a short 10-minute montage of vignettes as you bond with your new best friend. You'll take it out for walks, pick up on its eating habits and, and comfort it as it hides scared of the thunderstorm raging outside.

In other words, it's pretty much a collection of some of the most prominent memories one would have of their pet. Despite its short run time, it is incredibly effective at getting you attached to the little guy, making the ending that much more hard hitting.

All in all, Buddytale is an incredibly emotional and heart wrenching tale that won't take you much time to finish, but leave a mark on you for a long time.
