Back to Dust is a very intriguing humanitarian story based game where you play as refugee trying to cross the border with his daughter, you have limited supplies of food and your happiness is in short supply too but as you wander ever closer to the safer neighboring country you will come across many strangers who want to join your party but they will also use up your resources so the aim of the game is to choose wisely who you travel with, if you just say yes to everyone your food will run out fast.

You have to try and workout which of the strangers who approach you will can bring a benefit or resource to your group but invite to me and everyone will die of hunger very quickly.

Back to Dust is beautifully drawn in a cartoon style and although there is no real action the game is very compelling and also challenging in trying to make sure that you and your daughter reach the border alive.

Made for a recent game jam it’s just a shame that the game isn’t a bit more in depth or longer as it’s a really enjoyable experience made about a very serious subject.
