Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid-size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Japanese developers, in particular, took to it in droves. One of them is the developer Funkyland. Let's look at one of their games in one of their series, 7 DIFFERENCES #042.
To play 7 DIFFERENCES #042, unzip all the files in the same area and run the main SWF with whatever player you have.
There's no written story other than whatever you extrapolate from the picture. This is a game solely focused on gameplay, which is what you'd like to see from a point and click game.
The gameplay is pretty simple, yet satisfying. There are two slightly different pictures, and you simply need to find the seven differences between them. You can see checkmarks on top that indicate exactly how many differences you've found, and some Xs that indicate how many lives you have left. If you let this max out, you will lose the game.
The art is simple but satisfying and does its job exactly as well as you'd need it to. The two pictures in this entry portray a man apparently trying to adjust some candles.
All in all, if you're a fan of point-and-click games, then 7 DIFFERENCES #042 is very worthy of your time. You won't regret your choice if you give this game a shot.
